Community Engagement Internship

Planned Parenthood was founded on the visionary idea that access to sexual and reproductive health care could transform people’s lives. For 80 years, PPMW has provided high quality, supportive reproductive medical care for families in the DC metro area.

We are seeking a hard-working, personable intern to assist our Engagement team this semester. This internship is unpaid.

Our ideal candidate is someone who is a detailed oriented self-starter who is willing to

lend their talents to strengthen the Planned Parenthood mission and values. We want someone who is creative, professional, hard-working, and focused. Diverse candidates are especially encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist developing and participate in Health Center Advocacy Program (HCAP) and Healthy Neighborhood Canvassing 

  • Data input and desimmenation 

  • Recruit volunteers

  • Cultivate relationships for various PPMW departments

  • Research community partner events and attend events on behalf of PPMW, representing PPMW’s mission and values

  • Communicate with rapid response volunteers

  • Assist the Volunteer and Engagement Coordinator

Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of and a strong commitment to reproductive rights and PPMW mission and goals

  • College student

  • Must be able to work some weekends and evenings

 Details:

The internship is based out of our Washington DC NoMa office. The intern is asked to be available 16-20 hours a week, including weekends and evenings. Due to the nature of this internship, some events will be assigned within 24-hours of the event. This internship is unpaid. Internships with PPMW are an excellent way to build your resume while gaining valuable experience. Through PPMW’s internship program, you will not only gain skills pertinent to your specific internship but also increase your employability through additional professional development opportunities. 

Start and end dates are to be determined based on academic schedule, if applicable. Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis until the position has been filled.
