Planned Parenthood was founded on the visionary idea that access to sexual and reproductive health care could transform people’s lives. For 80 years, Planned Parenthood of Metropolitan Washington, DC (PPM) has provided high quality, supportive reproductive medical care for families in the DC metro area.
We are seeking a hard-working, personable intern to assist our Communications team during the Fall 2019 semester. This internship is paid.
Our ideal candidate is someone is a detail-oriented, self-starter who is willing to lend their talents to strengthen Planned Parenthood’s mission and values. We would like a candidate who is creative, professional, hard-working, and focused.

Assist the communications department in the development and implementation of our social media strategy to meet agency needs.
Develop social media analytics reports to share with department and organizational leadership.
Assist with data gathering for our yearly Annual Report.
Provide digital support for agency events.
Assist with content development for other digital products.
Cultivate relationships across PPMW departments.
Assist the Communications Director and Communications Associate on other projects, as needed.
Knowledge and a strong commitment to reproductive rights, as well as PPMW mission and goals.
Knowledge of social media tools (i.e. — Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Hootsuite, etc.)
Undergraduate or Graduate student
The internship is based out of our Washington DC NoMa office.
Interns should plan to be available 16-20 hours a week, and on occasion including evenings and weekends.
Internships with PPMW are an excellent way to gain relevant experience towards a career in advocacy communications and general professional development.
This internship is paid.
